Two HyLyzer 500 units will be installed at the Port of Schweinfurt in Bavaria, using solar and wind power to produce up to 2.2 tonnes of green hydrogen per day. The port has direct access to renewable electricity via the SüdLink DC grid.
“By deploying our proven HyLYZER technology at this strategic location in Bavaria, we’re helping to facilitate the development of a regional hydrogen value chain, from production to end-use, and accelerating the transition to zero-emissions transportation and industry,” explained Accelera’s Des McMenamin.
Last month, Tyczka broke ground on the refuelling station, part of its planned hydrogen hub, which will supply up to 1,000kg of green hydrogen per day with both 350 and 700 bar dispensing for heavy and light-duty vehicles.
Tyczka said the Schweinfurt project represents over €20m ($23.3m) of investment, supported by a €5m ($5.8m) Bavarian state grant, with commissioning expected by the end of 2026.
“The electrolyser is an important part of our production plant,” said Jürgen Schmidt, Head of Technology & Engineering at Tyczka Hydrogen.
“The performance of this unit is key to our success at our hydrogen hub in Bavaria. We are confident that with Accelera we have found an experienced partner to achieve a high level of safety, quality, availability and efficiency.
“Together with our strong trailer fleet and the extensive network of green hydrogen sources, this new hub will significantly complement our already strong value chain.”
