Jolt Green Chemical Industries appoints consultant for electrode plant

Scheduled to begin operations in Q2 2027, the plant is expected to supply more than 750,000 m² of electrodes per year once at full capacity. Catalyst-coated electrodes (CCEs) are core surfaces for electrolysers, fuel cells, and other electrochemical systems.

Located at the King Salman Energy Park (SPARK), the facility will feature automation production lines, dedicated R&D laboratories, and utilise wastewater reuse and solar integration.

Dyar Al-Safwah Engineering Consultants was appointed to oversee the project development for the joint venture (JV).

The JV, established by the Green Electrodes Consortium for Industry and Spain’s Jolt Solutions, was created to drive technology localisation and advance the adoption of clean technologies across the Middle East.

Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a leading hydrogen producer to secure its role as a global energy exporter.

Its flagship 2.2 GW Neom Green Hydrogen Project is now more than 80% complete and expected to begin green ammonia production in 2027.
