EU shifts Hydrogen Bank funds to reserve bids after seven withdrawals

Just eight of the original 15 projects selected for subsidies through the EU’s second European Hydrogen Bank (EHB) auction are proceeding to grant agreement negotiations, as the bloc looks to offer funds to reserves.

The second EHB round initially selected 15 green hydrogen projects to secure €992m ($1.17bn) in production subsidies in May, with bids ranging between €0.20 ($0.24) and €0.60 ($0.71) per kilogramme of hydrogen.
