Tyckza Hydrogen breaks ground on hydrogen station in German port

The new station will provide up to 1,000kg of green hydrogen per day with 350 and 700 bar dispensing to supply heavy and light-duty vehicles.

While the station will add to Tyckza’s existing refuelling infrastructure in Augsburg, it will form the first element of a wider hydrogen hub, which will feature a 5MW electrolyser plant and hydrogen trailer fleet to meet demand outside of mobility.

Tyczka said the hub will represent over €20m ($23.3m) of investment, with commissioning of the production capacity expected to start at the end of 2026. The Bavarian state is backing the entire project with €7m ($8.2m).

“Our hydrogen refuelling station at this central location will be an important building block for hydrogen mobility in Germany,” said Dr Frank Götzelmann, CEO of Tyczka Group.

“Our team is also working flat out on the construction of a production plant from which we will supply the region with green hydrogen.”

Tyczka has already been supplying third-party refuelling stations with green hydrogen across Germany.
