Elogen completes only announced PEM electrolyser order

The embattled technology firm supplied the PEM system for the Baseload Power Hub (BLPH), which is connected to the Hollandse Kust Noord (HKN) offshore wind farm.

First ordered in 2023, the module underwent a 17-week commissioning phase and was completed ahead of the platform’s planned sail-away next month.

Parent company GTT Group has been conducting a strategic review of its subsidiary Elogen, though no update on the company’s future has been issued since February 2025.

Elogen’s CEO stepped down following a €33m EBITDA loss for the 2024 financial year.

The company also announced that construction of its electrolyser gigafactory has been suspended, prompting a review of future options for the Vendôme site in consultation with local authorities.

GTT acquired Elogen in 2020, and construction of the gigafactory began in January 2024 with €86m in support from the French Government.

However, Elogen did not receive any “significant orders” in 2024, contributing to the EBITDA loss.

Commenting on the BLPH project, Eric Minaux, Managing Director of Elogen, said, “We are proud to contribute to a project that directly addresses the challenges of renewable energy intermittency.”
