High prices, a lack of offtake and insufficient incentives led to Ørsted deciding to scrap its FlagshipONE hydrogen-based e-fuels project in Sweden, the Danish energy firm’s European boss has told H2 View.

The company today (August 15) revealed it would shelve its plans of developing the 55,000-tonne e-methanol plant in Örnsköldsvik, despite having taken a final investment decision (FID) two years ago.
