Coming as Mint Hydrogen’s – formerly JET H2 Energy – first hydrogen refuelling location, the company plans to roll out a network of sites along Germany’s major transport routes.

Located at JET’s Frostelstraße 2 mobility hub on the A7 motorway entrance, the new station features Maximator Hydrogen, Mint has said it will be collaborating with vehicle manufacturers including Hyundai, Hylane, Keyou, Stellantis and Arthur bus.

Open 24/7, the station will offer hydrogen at both 350 and 700 bar.

Dieter Henle, Mayor of Giengen an der Brenz, said the hydrogen refuelling station was a “perfect fit” for the town which was undertaking various green initiatives.

“Achieving climate neutrality won’t happen overnight, nor can it be accomplished alone,” Henle said. “That is why we maintain strong collaborations in the area of mobility, including…Mint Hydrogen.”

Clifford zur Nieden, CEO of Mint Hydrogen, added, “Dependable refuelling infrastructure is essential for building a regional ecosystem for renewable hydrogen and is particularly crucial for the decarbonisation of heavy-duty transport.”

JET H2 Energy originally launched as a joint venture between Phillips 66 and H2 Energy Europe, with plans to establish 250 hydrogen refuelling stations in Europe by 2026.
