This could also provide a basis for Vietnam to decarbonise its own industries and put the country on the map in terms of zero-emission markets and technology.

The project is additionally being developed by ECONNECT Energy and The Green Solutions.

As a first step, ECONNECT Energy is expected to perform a pre-FEED study followed by an EPC contract for the fabrication and installation of a jettyless IQuay to deliver green ammonia from the onshore plant to ammonia storage vessels for export.

ECONNECT Energy pioneered the “world’s first jettyless” LNG transfer to an onshore terminal in 2017 and continues to deliver jettyless marine-based technology for a variety of energy transfer and bunkering applications.

Winnie Huynh, founder and CEO of The Green Solutions, said, “The Green Solutions Group is proud of being the pioneer in green hydrogen and green ammonia industry in Vietnam, and one of the first in the world utilising jettyless technology in place of traditional port infrastructure for flexible transporting solutions serving complex dynamic markets.”

Morten Christophersen, CEO of ECONNECT Energy, said, “TGS has an impressive track record of green energy project development, and we are pleased to contribute our IQuay ammonia solution.

“The low-footprint design of the IQuay is the perfect solution to overcome the challenges of the region’s shallow waters, enabling the marine-based export of green ammonia.”
