The TotalEnergies and H2 Mobility Deutschland project between comes as an important step in closing a gap in Germany’s hydrogen network between Baden-Baden and Basel, Switzerland.

Currently in ‘optimisation mode’ hydrogen-powered vehicle drivers can fill up from the 700bar pumps, as final work is completed in the background to meet full commissioning requirements.

H2 Mobility Deutschland received €850,000 in funding for the construction of the Freiburg station from the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV), as part of its National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP).

H2 Mobility Deutschland oversaw the construction and operation of the station in Freiburg. In March 2022, the company announced it had received €70m ($77m) in funding from Hy24 to support the roll out of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure.
