H2 Mobility Deutschland received €850,000 in funding for the construction of the Freiburg station from the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport (BMDV), as part of its National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP).
H2 Mobility Deutschland oversaw the construction and operation of the station in Freiburg. In March 2022, the company announced it had received €70m ($77m) in funding from Hy24 to support the roll out of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure.
TotalEnergies has its sights set on directly or indirectly operating up to 150 hydrogen refuelling station in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and France by 2030.
