Developed by Norway-based SEID, the Project ColdSpark technology produces hydrogen in a low temperature and pressure environment unlike other high-temperature pyrolysis techniques.

A vital aspect of this is an industrial-sized ultrahigh-voltage, pulsed switch-mode power supply which helps to generate hydrogen when it is required.

This could provide a boost to European hydrogen prospects and enable the region to scale its demand for hydrogen technologies with more of the clean energy carrier entering the market.

A unique aspect of the technology is that it can generate hydrogen with low energy consumption helping to create low-cost hydrogen.

This could help generate a bigger market for the clean energy carrier and introduce vast amounts of cost-competitive hydrogen for Europe providing an opportunity to decarbonise various industries.
