Acting as Managing Director of Ryze Ireland, Sheridan will focus on the role of clean hydrogen in supporting the island in meeting its Net Zero targets.

She will bring experience in working with public utilities and emerging green energy companies in engineering and management roles and is a strong advocate for STEM education, diversity and inclusion in the energy sector.

She will join Chief Executive, Neil Isaacson, Managing Director, Garry Birmingham, and Service Solutions Director, Carl Buckingham, who were all appointed in July.

Commenting on her appointment, Sheridan said, “Hydrogen is a significant factor in helping countries meet their Net Zero goals and I am looking forward to meeting with business leaders and government officials to talk about the role we can play.”

Jamie Burns, Group Chief Financial Officer, added, “There is a lot of good work already happening in the island of Ireland on Net Zero, and Catherine and Ryze Ireland are perfectly positioned to help organisations bring their plans to fruition.”

Ryze is currently working with its sister companies, Wrightbus and Hygen Energy, to develop a clean hydrogen production facility at Wrightbus’ Ballymena headquarters.

The planned production facility won a total funding of £37.9m ($46.9m) earlier this year (2023), with plans to produce enough clean energy to power 300 hydrogen buses a day, Ryze being responsible for the hydrogen distribution.

Sheridan said, “The Wrightbus project is just one example of the positive impact clean hydrogen can have not just for the environment, but also for local economies.”
