This opens up the possibility of utilising another means to produce hydrogen to meet the rising demands in Europe.

Taking place in the Repsol refinery in Cartagena, Spain, the renewable hydrogen has been used to create low carbon footprint fuels for both road transportation and aviation.

At the refinery, 10 tonnes of renewable hydrogen was produced which could help the domestic ecosystem in generating value and a new means to produce the clean energy carrier.

This successful process paves the way to further implementation of hydrogen at the industrial complexes allowing to reduce the carbon footprint of Repsol’s processes and its products.
