The joint venture, H2 Canada plans to begin performing feasibility studies for proposed green hydrogen hubs in the provinces of Newfoundland, Quebec, and British Columbia, during the fourth quarter of 2022.

H2 Canada has said it identified the nation as an ideal location to help the world transition to renewable fuels with its abundance of fresh water, hydroelectricity, and wind energy potential.

H2 View understands H2 Canada plans to initially reduce carbon emissions in Canada by 120,000 tonnes per year and create large economic opportunities in the renewable energy space.

Peter Walsh, Managing Director of Red Earth Energy, said, “Red Earth Energy will leverage the expertise of Infinite Green Energy, the leading green hydrogen company in Australia and internationally and Frontier Impact Group, a Climate Solutions Investment and Advisory firm who are pioneering the transition of Australia to net carbon zero, to hit the ground running in Canada.”

Under the joint venture, the companies have said they are building partnerships with Indigenous First Nation communities in Canada to support and supply green hydrogen to the developing domestic market, as well as providing exports to markets in Europe, Asia, the US, and the Americas.

Stephen Gault, CEO of IGE, commented, “It’s a great pleasure to join with Red Earth Energy to deliver H2 Canada working in partnership with First Nations traditional landowners. Canada is an ideal location to enable green hydrogen delivery into the American and European markets.”

Jennifer Lauber Pattison, Managing Director of Frontier Impact Group, added, “We believe Green Hydrogen has an important role to play in the energy transition and look forward to leveraging our experience in the Australia market with our partners to achieve impactful results in Canada.”
