Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser on Tuesday (May 4) confirmed the effort, stating that it had received a €2m ($2.1m) order for its alkaline electrolyser technology from an undisclosed Indian palm oil refinery.

Set be delivered in mid-2023, the order represents a new opportunity for Nel’s system.

Tom Skoczylas, Sales Manager at Nel Hydrogen US said, “This project represents an opportunity to showcase an electrolyser solution that provides reliable and cost-effective hydrogen for oleochemicals production.

“We are thrilled to be working with an established and respected leader in this sector”

Oleochemicals are currently used in a wide range of industries and products such as, metalworking lubricants, plastic additives, rubber and plastic production, automotive lubricants, greases, fuel additives, as well as personal care products like soaps, lotions, and cosmetics.
