Managed by Element Energy, AHFC is a partnership with companies such as, Air Products, Anglo American, Hyundai, Toyota, and BOC which works with UK fleet operators to encourage the roll out of fuel cell vans and trucks, and hydrogen refuelling infrastructure.

First Hydrogen has said 10 fleet operators from industries including, telecoms, delivery, utilities and infrastructure, supermarkets, breakdown, ambulances, and fleet leasing groups, have expressed interest in trialling its vehicles.

H2 View understands that the anticipated on road fleet trials will operate in UK locations such as, West London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Tees Valley, and Aberdeen.

William Darby, Principal Consultant at Element Energy, said, “After hearing about the First Hydrogen van product, we knew this would spark a lot of interest from our van operator group.

“We are looking forward to working with First Hydrogen to ensure the trial meets the needs of each operator, whilst also providing First Hydrogen with the information and support it needs to continue developing the product.”

The move comes after the firm said in May (2022), that it was set to begin testing its first hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicle (LCV) based on a MAN eTGE van, equipped with Ballard Power Systems’ fuel cells.
