The Danish green hydrogen company has said it is supplying green hydrogen and fuelling solutions over the course of the Volvo tests in both Northern Sweden and Spain to expose the trucks to both hot and cold operating conditions.

With the testing period scheduled to start in 2023, H2 View understands that Everfuel plan to provide a moveable station to refuel the trucks at both testing locations.

Jacob Krogsgaard, CEO of Everfuel, said, “The collaboration with Volvo Group is highly valuable to us and we intend to do our outmost to support the commercial launch of their fuel cell trucks.

“We look forward to learning more about fuelling hydrogen under extreme conditions. Volvo’s decision to develop clean hydrogen-powered trucks is an important validation of how hydrogen and batteries will complement each other in the rapid transition to a future of fossil-free mobility.”

Volvo Trucks unveiled its zero emission, hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric truck in June this year (2022), which it said will have a range of up to 1000km (621 miles), and a refuelling time of less than 15 minutes.
