EMEC to explore hydrogen supply chains in Scotland and France

This comes as the EMEC looks to explore several hydrogen supply chains across Scotland and France to help accelerate its adoption in the marine industry.

In February 2021, EMEC announced that it would partner with French engineering firm INNOSEA and London-based Renewables Consulting Group (RCG) to carry out research to understand the technical status of floating wind and hydrogen in the regions.

As well as this, the EMEC is also looking to use a unique combination of tidal power and flow batteries to power a EMEC hydrogen production plant to demonstrate continuous production from variable renewable generation.
