In the speech, Boris Johnson stated that the UK will introduce 4,000 new zero-emission buses with some being made of hydrogen.

With the transportation sector seen as a key area in which hydrogen can be used to decarbonise, it is clear that the Prime Minister sees the clean energy carrier as a potential option for public transportation.

It is hoped that, with a major increase in hydrogen buses across the UK, investment in the sector could be sparked and awareness for hydrogen mobility will be increased.
