H2-View News: HH2E secures NAS batteries to use in German hydrogen production project
BASF Stationary Energy Storage (BSES) made the order for the batteries, which each boast a maximum output of 18MW, for the project being led by German hydrogen producer HH2E. Currently under development in the Baltic Sea north of Germany, the hydrogen production project will use the NAS batteries to power the electrolyser. The modules will be charged with electricity from intermittent renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power. H2 View understands the batteries are capable of high-capacity and long-duration discharge, well-suited for shifting peak loads over an extended period. The current order is the first delivery batch of [...]
H2-View News: Hexagon Purus secures order for hydrogen storage solutions
HPS Home Power Solutions AG has purchased the solution to use in its ‘picea’ product and they expect to receive the storage systems during Q2 2024. HPS’ picea is an electricity storage product based on hydrogen and solar energy. Using surplus solar power during the summer, hydrogen can be produced via an electrolyser to provide electricity in the winter. “Our high-pressure hydrogen storage systems are flexible and scalable, suitable for a wide range of applications, such as storing baseload energy from solar plants,” explained Matthias Kötter, Managing Director & Site lead at Hexagon Purus. © HPS Home Power Solutions The [...]
H2-View News: Luxembourg’s ‘first’ hydrogen refuelling station sits unused since inauguration
Built with the backing of the European Commission’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme, the public refuelling station in Bettembourg at the CFL Eurohub Sud truck stop operated by TotalEnergies was launched in September 2023. In an inauguration ceremony attended by government officials, the station was hailed as the first step in supporting road users’ transition to zero-emissions. Planned to serve both light, commercial and heavy-duty vehicles, delivering hydrogen at 350 and 700 bar, it comes as part of the H2Benelux project which aims to establish eight hydrogen refuelling stations along the trans-European transport corridors in Benelux to support the deployment [...]

H2-View News: Lhyfe introduces online marketplace to buy and sell green hydrogen
Via its online portal Lhyfe Heroes, the first phase of the marketplace will enable players boasting transport solutions to source green hydrogen from referenced production sites and producers across Europe. Once past its first phase, H2 View understands the solution will be available to all hydrogen buyers needing deliveries to fuel stations or logistic centres. A Lhyfe statement claimed more features will be added over the coming months. The marketplace already has around 10 partners, with the first version of the platform expected to be free to use. The main features laid out by Lhyfe include: Better regional coverage, to [...]
H2-View News: Wind turbine installation nears completion at 30MW German green hydrogen plant
Bad Lauchstädt Energy Park near Leipzig today (April 22) said the installation of the last rotor blade for the eight Vestas wind turbines will “soon be completed,” with green hydrogen production expected to start at the end of 2025. Set to produce 50MW of electricity, the wind farm will power 30MW of Sunfire alkaline electrolysers that will generate green hydrogen for use by TotalEnergies at its Leuna refinery to partially replace grey hydrogen use. H2-View News: Heidelberg’s hydrogen refuelling station begins operations for rnv buses
Capable of providing 1,000kg of hydrogen per day via three dispensers, the refuelling station served Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr (rnv) 27 fuel cell range extender buses. As part of the gradual commissioning, cars and trucks will be able to refuel publicly at 700 and 350 bar, respectively, at Wieblinger Weg 92 from May 2024 and then on the road by June. The station will then also be used by Heidelberg’s waste collection service. All the H2-eCitaro buses will be parked and refuelled with hydrogen at the depot and charged with electricity, with the project volume cost for the new depot resulting in €24.5m, including [...]
H2-View News: SGN delays UK hydrogen heating network until 2025
The £32m ($39m) project was originally planned to go live this year (2024), enabling around 300 houses in the Buckhaven and Denbeath areas to be supplied with heat from the “world’s first” 100% green hydrogen gas network. A statement released by SGN said it was aiming to bring the trial online in the summer of 2025, noting the delays were caused by “supply chain and procurement challenges.” Over 65% of the 8.2km hydrogen network has been installed so far, with the hydrogen production and storage facility in Fife Energy Park making “good progress.” SGN said work to install an electrolyser [...]
H2-View News: Coregas to support the development of New Zealand’s “first” hydrogen refuelling station
The Halcyon Green Hydrogen project will be located on Coregas NZ’s Manukau site in Wiri, South Auckland. The station will serve as an “integral piece” in growing a nationwide network of supply locations pioneered by Halcyon. Coregas will provide its manufacturing and supply experience to the project’s technical and compliance requirements, whilst also building on experience from developing an Australian refuelling station in collaboration with Haskel. Read more: Haskel delivers New South Wales’ first hydrogen refuelling station Halcyon, the joint venture between Tüaropaki Trust and Obayashi Corporation, opened New Zealand’s “first” green hydrogen production facility in 2021 at the Mökai [...]
